In 1991 Pamela Smart was sentenced to life imprisonment for plotting the murder of her husband, Gregory. The New Hampshire trial, televised across the US, featured the 22-year-old Pamela and her 15-year-old lover William Flynn, whom she had met at school where she worked. After Gregory has discovered his wife’s affair, she had convinced ‘Billy’ and three accomplices to fake a break-in and murder her husband. The police soon linked Flynn with Pamela and he and two of the accomplices testified against her. The press nicknamed her the ‘Ice Princess.’ She was found guilty and sentenced to life with no oppertunity of parole. The four young men were all sentenced to long prison terms for their involvement in the killing.
